Sleeping Beauties

Zane fell asleep right after his bath, still wrapped up in his towel.

Zac fell asleep on top of his covers so I had to pull out one of his toddler quilts.

Zoe does not like blankets.  This is how I found her this morning.

Day 27/Day15

Today Zane had a round of chemo.  His blood work came back borderline so he was given blood and platelets.  So instead of a short day we had a pretty long day in the clinic.  He is now starting to feel some of the side effects of the steroids and chemo.  Yesterday I ran my hands through Zane's hair and a huge amount came out.  I was not prepared for that yet.  Zac has not had that happen yet and I just assumed Zane would lose his hair after Zac.
On Friday, Zac goes in for a lumbar puncture and a bone marrow biopsy.  The results of the bone marrow will determine the treatment course.  Prayers appreciated.

Why no mommy, I'm not eating nutella for breakfast.

Do you want to try some?

Weekend

The boys are both taking steroids, which means we are constantly feeding them.  Bob has been making pizza's for Zane in the early morning hours. Their favorite food right now are french fries from McDonald's.  This can be a challenge at 4:00 in the morning.  The nurses told us most kids like salty food while taking the steroids.
Our weekend was spent keeps the boys fed, relaxing, and running a few errands.

Day 22/Day 10

Zac had another round of chemo today and Zane also went in today for some blood work.  This was the first time both boys were in the clinic at the same time.  The nurses were pretty proud of themselves for being able to tell the boys apart.  The blood work for both boys came back good  neither boy needed any platelets or blood.  Zac is starting to have body aches and weakness but they told us that's a normal side effect for one of the drugs he's on.  Overall both boys are handling treatment very well.
Today Aunt Sharon left and tomorrow Kathy goes back home.  My mom arrives tomorrow and will be staying with us for two weeks.  We are hoping to have a low key weekend and enjoy a small break from the hospital.  Our next appointment isn't until Wednesday.

While waiting for blood work to come back, Zac had breakfast (hot dogs and cookies).  The doctors told us not to worry about what they eat as long as they eat, they need all the calories they can get.

Zane was cracking Kathy (my MIL) and I up as we waited for our car.  He also thanked me for bringing him and his brother to the doctor.

Zoe

Today I was able to get Zoe outside for some fun in the snow.  We built a mountain for her little ponies to climb.  After that we cleared the snow off of the trampoline and had some fun jumping around.

Playing with her little ponies.

Waiting for me to jump so she could bounce around.

She found an icicle and wanted to take it inside to play in the tub with it.

Day 21/Day 9

Yesterday Zane had another lumbar puncture and a round of chemo.  The poor guy couldn't eat after midnight and woke up at 4:00 a.m. wanting pizza.  Poor guy was so hungry.  His procedure was delayed since he needed some platelets.  By the time he went back for his procedure he wanted to eat five happy meals and a pizza.  Bob was at the hospital with him and called me to bring him a happy meal and some pizza.  I got it to the hospital right around the time he was waking up.  Once they discharged him the the surgical floor we were able to go back to his room in the clinic where he decided he didn't want a happy meal or pizza but some fish crackers.  His chemo treatment was done within 15 minutes and then we were free to go.  Once again he cried when we left.

Zane came home yesterday!!  He was not happy about coming home and cried the whole way to the car.  Needless to say we didn't get a going home picture with him.
