100 Year Old Barn

A while back Bob and his dad tore down a one hundred year old barn in order to reclaim the wood.

Before the boys started to work.

Another before picture.

The decided to start by tearing down the awning.

And down it came.

Once the awning was off Bob Sr. thought he had found an old toolbox. Turned out it was his toolbox that he forgot to move.

It looks like the barn could collapse at any time.

Starting to take off the barn siding.

Done with the barn siding.

We thought by tearing off some of the 2x4's the barn would collapse.

Not collapsing yet.

Time for plan B.

The barn would not collapse! You would think that it would collapse at any second but it didn't. The boys decided to start ripping out the support beams. They ended up tearing out three support beams and it still wouldn't fall. It held for a little while and then you could hear it start to creak and then...

...it started to collapse.

And it's down!

So proud of themselves.

The after picture.

They sure don't build them like they used to. It was a fun weekend and I had a lot of fun watching the boys and playing with my camera.
